The wait is finally over and I believe the abuja residents are breathing their sigh of relief. The Abuja-Kaduna high speed train project is finally ready. The official test-run of the transport system took place yesterday, June 28. It begins full commercial operations once it is inaugurated by President Buhari in July. That cuts down loads of transportation palava. Meanwhile Lagos has waited decades to just complete the tracks.  See more photos below...

Patience Jonathan off to Germany again?

SaharaReporters is reporting that our First Lady has been flown out to Germany on another emergency. They said medical sources in Abuja told them that the first Lady had to be flown out due to new health concerns.

There is no official word from the presidency regarding her trip and her principal media aide Ayo Osinlu told SaharaReporters by phone that he couldn’t tell of Mrs Jonathan's movements because he was not in Abuja at the moment... -->

Explosion Reported At Shopping Malls In Abuja

Faint Reports reaching me  says a car bomb exploded today in Abuja at the popularlly known shopping mall, "Park and shop" and "Banex Plaza" in Wuse 2, Abuja. As at the time there hasn't been reports of casualties. Abuja Police PRO has confirmed. Below is an official statement from the Nigeria Police Force in Abuja:

"Today 3rd July 2012 at about 9:30pm, a low level explosion went off somewhere along Aminu Kano Crescent, near Banex Plaza, Wuse 2, Abuja. A crack police team led by the Commissioner of Police in charge of FCT Command- CP Aderenle Shinaba- responded to the distress call, arriving the scene few minutes after the incident. The incident had a zero casualty record- no life lost, no person injured and no car damaged or burnt. Detectives from the Bomb Disposal Unit, assisted by their counterparts 4rm FCT CID have commenced investigation. FCT Police are continuing with their intensive overt & surveillance patrols of the city & wishes to reassure the residents of the police preparedness to continue to provide a safe & secured environment for social & economic activities to thrive unhindered. Meanwhile, mischief makers are in their own interest warned to keep off the city or have themselves to blame as the long arm of the law will soon catch up with them...."
