Official Statement by Mavin Records on Wande Coal's Exit

An official statement from Mavin Records regarding Wande Coal's exit from the label...

It is with deep regret that we officially announce the departure of recording artist Wande Ojosipe, popularly known as Wande Coal, from Mavin Records due to irreconcilable differences.

Over the past few months, Mavin Records has made a concerted move to consolidate its position in the Nigerian music industry. Mavin has pursued a renewed ethos to raise its standards of quality and professionalism to a world-class level. Wande’s vision has not aligned with ours and a few months ago all parties mutually agreed that a separation would be the best course of action.

Legal parties on both sides have spent the past six months trying to reach an amicable solution in terms of musical property rights. However the decision by Wande Coal to release ‘Baby Face’ purportedly as his own material is a direct breach of intellectual property law and compelled an immediate clarification on our part.

Both Mavin Records and Wande Coal have enjoyed a remarkable run in the course of their working relationship. It is unfortunate that conflicting priorities contributed to the premature curtailment of a hitherto fruitful accord.

Mavin Records reaffirms its goal to constantly provide high quality music to our fans and introduce new and exciting talent into the industry.

We wish Wande Coal the best of luck in all his future endeavours.

Signed

D PRINCE'S 'TAKE BANANA ' VIDEO OFF YOUTUBE??!

The Mavin rapper didn’t think his ‘Take Banana’ song would cause so much controversy when he was recording it with elder brother Don Jazzy. Investigations reveal that a few weeks before the Nigerian Broadcasting Commission (NBC) placed a ban on the popular video, popular video sharing site, YouTube had already  yanked the video off their platform.

According to YouTube, ‘Take Banana‘ was removed ‘because its content violated YouTube’s Terms of Service’.

YouTube has strict policies on materials that have to do with nudity, vulgarism and other content. They did not respond to enquiries asking exactly why ‘Take Banana’ was yanked off which is also part of their policies… see the youtube effect below

Tiwa Savage Rest rumours of Romance with Manager "Tee Billz

Peeps in the entertainment industry could bet their naira that Tiwa Savage and her manager cum business partner (they own 323 Imprint), Tunji Balogun popularly known as Tee Billz, are in the love zone. In fact there were rumours a while back that they were engaged and planning to wed soon. Tiwa Savage recently put the rumours to rest when an Encomium magazine reporter asked her if she was engaged to Tee Billz.

"I am not engaged and I am not dating Tee Billz. If I am, you would have seen a ring on my finger indicating that I am engaged. It's just a rumour

When asked to describe her kind of man; she said

"I will like my man to be tall, dark, handsome and must be fit. He must have a good heart, work hard and must care a lot about me.

Well, so fans and crushers now know her taste..the irony is Tee Billz is also "tall, dark and a handsome dude."Just saying..*lips sealed* -->

Ace Music Producer @DONJAZZY Buys N160m Lekki Home

The celebrated producer is enjoying a fruitful biz relationship with Samsung, and he has now added Promasidor, makers of Loya milk, to his list of clients.

Now, sources close to him tell says he has finally doled out the cash for the Lekki duplex he rented this year after his separation from business partner D'banj.

Many had criticized the young producer for coughing out a reported N8m Per annum for a duplex in the super expensive NICON estate.

The property is a white building close to the estate fence. And the producer  paid up to N160m to take ownership.

No doubt 2012 will definitely be a memorable one for Mr Collins Ajereh a.k.a Don Jazzy, but he has also soared high with the launch of a new label, subsequently releasing a compilation album and bagging endorsement deals.

News - @GenevieveNnaji1, @TiwaSavage, @DonJazzy, @IamDrSid visit flood victims in Delta State

On October 15^th and 16^th 2012,  Ms. Genevieve Nnaji, and the MAVIN Crew, Don Jazzy, Dr. Sid, and Tiwa Savage organized relief supplies and personally visited the refugee camps located in Asaba, Delta State in order to show both physical and moral support to the displaced victims.

The flood, currently ravaging through the nation has displaced over 100,000 families, leaving a lot of people homeless and without any business to keep them afloat. Our Nigerian stars went down to distribute relief supplies, as well as utilize their celebrity influence and raise more awareness to this ongoing natural disaster.

The Reach Out Initiative, a program kick-started by the stars themselves will be utilized to get a lot more people involved, both within and outside the country in donating help, either through relief supplies or financial donations.

Genevieve: “This is just the beginning, as our country has never experienced anything like this. The government is doing the best they can, but we as citizens, can also partake in helping the situation in the best way we can. The plan is to get more people involved, and visit more relief camps in the affected states.”
