Maybe it's the angle or so but the media mogul's style just didn't cut it for me. Mean while Genevieve's look was divine , love the black sheer dress and gold belt. Simple but gorgeous .. See winners of the night and well styled personalities below -

Fast rising Nollywood actress, Oghenekaro Itene shines in Ghollywood movies

Oghenekaro at Emina Castle, Ghana

Pretty and fast rising Nollywood actress, Oghenekaro Itene recently returned from Ghana’s Ghollywood, where she dazzled in two big budget movies that would soon hit shelves internationally.
In a hearty chat with SHOWBIZPLUSng, the Delta State-born actress, who is also an international make-up artist, disclosed that her recent trip to Ghana for movie productions was fun filled and memorable.
“I just came back from Ghana, where I shot several movies back to back. My locations experience in Ghana has really opened my eyes and enriched me more as a budding thespian. Some of the movies I shot had working titles like: Our Community School, What Life Took From Me among others.

My visit to Elmina Castle, the defunct home of slave trade in Ghana was so touching and emotional. It made me appreciate life and human beings more, especially loved ones. In fact, I cried when the tour guide was telling us the inhuman stories of slave trade in Ghana and how captured women were dehumanized, raped and killed. I will be going back soon to complete the other productions waiting for me in Ghana.”
Meanwhile, Oghenekaro, who shuttles between Nigeria and South Africa, has revealed that she has been chosen as the anchor of a new TV programme, ‘African Undiscovered’ that would be aired on cable stations across Africa.
“African Undiscovered is a documentary reality traveling magazine programme that is aimed at digging deep into African cultures and histories. And I’m delighted to be chosen as its anchor for West Africa.”
Some of Oghenekaro’s popular Nollywood movies since her arrival, a couple of years ago include: Shattered Mirror, The Riches In-between the Lines and Lincoln’s Clan, a collaborative soap involving Nigeria and South Africa. See photos of this beauty below

Kate Henshaw to take 8 years break from acting for politics

Actress Kate Henshaw has revealed she plans to take a break from acting to face politics squarely. When asked if she's quitting acting for politics in an interview with Sahara TV, Ms Henshaw said;
"Well, Well, I will take a break to serve the larger population of Nigeria. I won't quit. Arnold Schwarzenegger was Governor and he is back to acting again. You take time off,you serve your people. I don't hope to be there forever. I just want to do, make noise, leave when the ovation is loudest. That's the best way. Yeah ...I don't want to be there for 10 years, 12 years, 16 years, that's the best way. I want to do other things. 4-8 years, that's the limit you can hold me to my word."
Asked if she won't want to exceed the 4-8 years duration, Kate responded
"There has to be another person, who will go through the process, who would want to try. That's the problem. Too many people stay in one place for so long and other people just lose hope and say why would I even bother. So let someone start getting the knowledge. I would help whoever is in the Cross River state to come with me, go through the process, meet the elders, whoever...get ready to take your chair because nobody is going to come and pick you. You have to push your head inside there" she said
Asked if she has gathered enough money to pursue her political ambition, Kate said
"There is no money. I can't match the people who have been in the system for 20, 30 years. I am going with God and my heart" she said
Asked if she will share money as most Nigerian Politicians do, Kate said;
"I'm not sharing money. If you continue sharing money, it will never stop. If you want a change, a true change, then vote for me and you will see the change. But if you want money, hey, go for money and stay where you are and don't even complain" she said
Kate declared her intention contest for the Federal House or Representatives for Calabar Municipal/Odunkpani Federal Constituency under the PDP on July 19th

Rita Dominic Celebrates Birthday and Shows off Chic New Haircut

Rita Dominic is definitely one of our favourites when it comes to Nollywood and in the style stakes too. The lovely actress, turned 39 yesterday and to celebrate she cut her trademark curly hair into a chic and sleek pixie crop. We never thought we would see Rita with something as extreme as this but we have to say we love it! Rita wrote that 'she may not have all that she wants, but she has all that she needs' and for that she is very grateful! Lovely words!

Segun Arinze Calls Out Patricia Bala Of Nigeria film and video censors board Regarding Release of Half of A Yellow Sun

Nigeria has been under an international microscope lately, thanks in large part to the kidnappings of some 200 school girls by Boko Haram, as well as recent news that the country has surpassed South Africa to become Africa's largest economy; and we could even now add the delayed release of Biyi Bandele's Half Of A Yellow Sun - a film adaptation of celebrated author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie's Orange Prize-winning novel of the same name - to that list of local occurrences that have become international stories.
The movie "Half of a Yellow Sun" has been Out and Premiered Outside Nigeria but hasn't been released for Viewing here in Nigeria. Due to some forces beyond our understanding . Anyways this doesn't sit well with many in the movie industry and Diaspora , amongst which A-list Actor and , former AGN President and Veteran Segun Arinze is one of them. He expresses he's upset on the matter in a statement he shared with me . Read his statement below.

Please tell Madam Patricia Bala  Of Nigeria film and video censors board to release the Movie half of a yellow sun. She has no reason to hold on to the movie. She has no right to censor the movie only to classify it. She saw it in Canada and even partnered with the producers in Canada during the premiere. What she is doing now is an embarrassment to govt and a big insult to our dear industry Nollywood. We are not in a Military regime. She should kindly resign. - Segun Arinze

Clarion Chukwura calls Ibinabo Ex-convict, Says she's not fit to lead AGN

The beef between these two women is obviously not ending anytime soon. About a week after Actors' Guild of Nigeria president Ibinabo Fiberesima issued a statement addressing the constant attack from actress Clarion Chukwura, saying she was only trying to destabilize AGN, Clarion is not relenting and has fired back. In an interview with Punch today, Clarion said Ibinabo is an ex-convict and therefore not fit to lead AGN.
“I am not on the same level with Ibinabo professionally, educationally or in any other form. I find that she is deliberately misleading the public and wanting to push the issues at stake under the table with her so-called open letter. I will not allow her to do that.
“Item ‘U’ of the electoral guideline of AGN disqualified her. No convicted person can stand for election in any post. She was convicted for manslaughter and she was given a jail sentence which she served. There is a court injunction stopping Ibinabo from parading herself as the AGN president. This is the copy of the judgment. I have it. Manslaughter has no option of fine. Her sentence was reduced from seven years to five years and we all know she went to jail. The judgment reads in part, ‘there is proof that she drove recklessly and caused the death of Dr. Sura Giwa contrary to the road traffic laws of Lagos State.’ She was drunk. How could this person be the face of AGN?” Continue..
“The court injunction of 2011 and 2013 was forwarded to the presidency. The criminal conviction of manslaughter was sent to the presidency. The president is supposed to be a symbol of the supremacy of the rule of law. He disregarded the law in recognising Ibinabo as president of AGN. The president is now saying there is no law in this country. So the AGN has become an ethnic grouping. This is a professional body of actors. It is not a Niger Delta solidarity platform,” she said.
The actress said she wouldn’t have joined Ibinabo’s party to Aso Rock even if she had invited her, saying,
“Some actors have even explained to me why they followed her. They said they were taken there on a fraudulent arrangement for her to use and get what she wanted. Would she really have approached me for a thing like that?”
Clarion alleged that Ibinabo had been going from one state government house to another to “beg” for money.
“I have the data of every government house she has been to. No single chapter has seen a dime for running the guild. She went to Ondo State and she was given N500, 000. What chapter did she inaugurate in Ondo State? The guild wasn’t set up to go begging from one state government to another.”
Clarion said Ibinabo couldn’t have clocked 40 years as she claimed in her letter because,
“In 1989 when she was running Pyramid Club in Lagos, she was 22. How can she say 25 years later that she is just turning 40? I have known her a long time. I know what I am saying when I say she is not a professional actor.”
When reminded that Ibinabo had featured in some movies, Clarion said,
“That is not what makes you a professional actor. You have market women in the East who have acted in one or two movies; that doesn’t make them professional actors. I will be 35 years in this industry soon. This is the industry that has made me everything that I am. I will not stand by and watch it destroyed. People have placed their trust in me. I am an activist. People believe that I will bring justice to bear on this issue because I am afraid of nobody.”
Concerning Ibinabo’s allegation that Clarion just registered as a member of the guild few weeks ago, the veteran actor said,
“I joined the AGN in 2002. I was part of the process that brought in Zach Orji as the president of the guild and thereafter Ejike Asiegbu. When it was time for Ejike to leave, the whole thing degenerated. A caretaker committee was formed with KOK as the chairman and I as the vice Chairman. These are my identity cards. I even have a membership certificate which was signed by Segun Arinze who was the national president and Ifeanyi Dike as the BOT chairperson.
“I went to pay N5000 into the guild’s account as my dues for this year. She should provide any proof showing that I just got registered.”
Clarion also used the opportunity to fire back at Ifeanyi Dike, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the guild who she claimed had maligned her in some publications recently.
“The BOT led by Ifeanyi Dike has been the same board since the incorporation in 1999. According to the constitution, they were to serve 10 years and leave for a new board to replace them. People had become aware that the BOT members are not men of integrity and the guild wasn’t moving forward.
“They refused to leave and a court injunction was obtained in 2011. I have a copy of the injunction as you can see. The court injunction prevented them from holding any election. But they ignored the injunction and allowed themselves to be financially induced by Ibinabo to run for the election.”
Clarion said she wasn’t attacking Ibinabo just because she (Clarion) wants to contest for the AGN presidency.
“The first step is the dissolution of the BOT. When the time for election comes, there are several credible people who are prepared to run for the post. I will give my support to any credible candidate who wants the viability of every chapter. I will pass my plans and ideas to that person. It is not about me wanting to be president. I will gladly work and support the new person in an advisory role.”

Nuella Njubigbo issues statement on her Marriage to Tchidi Chikere which holds this weekend

First off , I didn't even know one needed a press release to tie the knot . Social media Craze LOL .. anyways , like typical Nollywood movies actress "Nuella Njubigbo" will wed her long time love, Nollywood producer/director Tchidi Chikere this weekend in her hometown in Anambra state and this is authoritative. * Probably living out a true life Nollywood flick *

The couple who have been dating before Tchidi divorced his actress wife and mother of his 3 children Sophia Chikere, moved in together at Graceland Estate in Ajah last year.

Nuella has issued a statement confirming the news of her upcoming wedding, saying that she's only following her heart. Find the statement after the cut...

Let me start by confirming some of the rumours you may have heard. Yes, the traditional marriage rites between Tchidi Chikere and I will be performed soon. This was not the way we imagined or planned it, but as they say, nobody has a crystal ball to tell where or who we end up with. Life is a dice.

At the time the rumours of his separation/divorce and me being involved was going on, I definitely was not in that space where some story writers said I was. I was busy doing other things with my life, other preoccupations, a relationship (I thought would lead to marriage), and my acting career. Things happened, my relationship packed up and we went our separate ways, I moved on.
Tchidi and I have always been friends (As I am with other colleagues), We trade in the same career, but we never crossed that line (we never dated), not to talk of me getting pregnant for him ( I’m presently not pregnant as still being written) sometimes It’s really tiring confirming or refuting some of these rumors.  I know some naysayers would still believe what they have made up their minds to believe and stick to; Truth is, I am not making this statement for those set of people, neither am I making it to get people on my side. This statement goes out to those who love me and truly care about me and the way I live my life, and to my very reliable and supportive fans who have been asking questions and deserve to know the truth.
In the past two years, Tchidi and I worked more, we got closer and more friendly, we were both single and I began to understand and see the real him. Needless to say that I also began to really, really like this real person I was getting to know more and more with every passing day. Then it happened, our hearts clicked. Well, maybe the flying rumours contributed to this and made me look more his way, or it could have been part of life we have no control over.
Suffice this to say, he proposed to me a while ago and after very careful thought and consideration on every side I said yes. Would I say no because of what people would say and damn where my heart led me? Just like Bill Cosby said, ‘the key to failure is trying to please everybody’. I chose not to take that route, instead follow my heart.
My heart is remarkably at peace with this decision, and I am willing to take this leap of faith which every married woman has taken. Where this love will lead me I cannot say, I am not God, but, I have hope, faith and believe that it will lead me to a good place. Every one of us in this life deserves a chance to be happy. I am taking my own chance.
This is the only statement I am making on this, any other one after this is not from me. I can’t help what people say or write, but please be careful about what you listen to or read and believe. For those who wish me the best, I wish the very best, for those who don’t, I leave you to God who sees and knows all things. Thanks for reading.

Signed
Nuella Njubigbo
