TIWA SAVAGE SIGNS PEPSI ENDORSEMENT DEAL

R&B-Pop singer Tiwa Savage(who was recently signed to MAVIN records) has landed a major endorsement deal with popular beverage company Pepsi, a deal we are told is worth a couple of millions of Naira.
We are told that the endorsement deal was sealed with Tiwa’s current management 323 Entertainment headed by Tunji ‘T-Billz’ Balogun about a month ago. The deal sees the 32-year-old follow the likes of pop singer Ashionye who was endorsed as the face of ‘Pepsi Light’ back in 2007.
‘Yea, the deal is true, I can confirm that but that’s all I can say for now’, Balogun told NET in a phone conversation. Balogun later explained he signed a non-disclosure agreement with the parties involved. ‘I’m still surprise how the news got out so soon‘, he added.
There’s no announcement yet from Pepsi. But an insider tells us there’s the possibility that another Nigerian pop star will be joining Tiwa at Pepsi

Big Brother StarGame kicked off on Sunday night with a big bang!
From celebrities to uber hot Downville housemates and a performance by American Star J Cole, it was definitely a star-bright beginning for the new season of Big Brother Africa.
The first set of twists were revealed by the host I.K.
We found out about Upville (For the Celebs) and Downville (For the “regular” folk). The random lottery for nominations were also revealed, for this week, the Tanzanian and Zimbabwean couples have been selected to go up for eviction.

This year the contestants are divided into two groups, namely the VIPs and the wannabes. The VIPs have been put into the snazzy Upville house while the wannabes are in the not- so- snazzy Downville House.

‘Avengers’ Smashes US Box Office Record

Avengers features Thor and Captain America among other superheroes

The Avengers superhero movie has smashed the record for the biggest US opening weekend, taking $200m (£123m), early figures show.

According to the BBC, the previous best opening weekend was Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, which opened in July 2011 with $169m (£104m).

The Disney film was called Marvel Avengers Assemble for its UK release.

Included in the top five of biggest openers are The Dark Knight and Spider-Man 3.

The Dark Knight, starring Christian Bale as the Caped Crusader, took $158m (£97m) in its opening weekend in 2008, while Spider-Man 3 took $151m (£93m).

Both superheroes will once again be seen on screen during the summer.

The Avengers, directed by Joss Whedon, failed to beat the final Harry Potter's first day takings record of $91m (£56m) but surpassed it over the following two days.

No other big films dared go up against it, with only the British film The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel being released on the same day.

The Avengers has so far taken $641m (£396m) worldwide.

Don Jazzy sets up new record label - Mavin Records. Signs Tiwa Savage

  

The ace producer and former CEO of Mohits Records announced his new label on Twitter a few hours ago. It's no longer Mohits Records, its now Mavin Records (Mavin pronounced as May-vin). And he has signed the new label's first female artist; the unbelievably talented Ms Tiwa Savage. Aside from D'banj and his brother K-Switch, all the other artists under the now defunct Mohits records are with Mavin Records. 

Meanwhile a compilation album titled Solar Plexus, produced by Don Jazzy and featuring Wande Coal, Dr Sid, D'Prince and Tiwa Savage will be released tomorrow May 8th.

The record exec also tweeted that more artists will be signed to the label soon.

It's official! 2face Idibia and Annie Macaulay are married

If you have never believed anything I've written on this blog, please believe this one. Annie and 2face are officially married. Stella Dimoko first wrote it yesterday butLinda ikeji confirmed it. The lovebirds didn't want to give out too much info but confirmed they indeed officially got married at a very private ceremony on Wednesday May 2nd 2012, witnessed by only a few close family and friends. "I asked them if they were planning a white wedding later, and they said yes". All the details for that will be revealed when they are ready. So there you have it folks, 2face Idibia and Annie are now officially man and wife!

Heartbroken Serena Williams: I Don’t Want to Date for the Next Decade (EXCLUSIVE)

Tennis champ Serena Williams is a force to be reckoned with on the court, but in the dating stakes, it’s game, set and match.

The 30-year-old superstar athlete — who has dated rappers Common and Drake – tells Celebuzz that her failed relationships in the past have hurt her so badly, she doesn’t care if she could ever date again.
“I have given up on dating,” the 27-time grand slam champion confessed, in an exclusive interview. ”It just hasn’t worked out well for me.”

An emotional and candid Serena added, “I’m a really emotional person. I give my all and everything. I do make mistakes — like every human does — but the last relationship just was too much of a heartbreak for me. I just can’t go through that anymore. It was hard.”
