You can't always believe what you hear—in Nicki Minaj raps, at least!
While speculation swirled whether the Young Money maven was endorsing the GOP's Mitt Romney—after rapping "I'm a Republican voting for Mitt Romney, you lazy bitches is f--king up the economy" on Lil Wayne's Dedication 4—President Barack Obama is happy to talk about his take on Minaj's lyrics.
"I'm not sure that's actually what happened," Obama told Power 95.3's Obie and Lil' Shawn during a radio appearance.
"I think she had a song on there, a little rap that said that, but she
likes to play different characters. So I don't know what's going on
there."
Not that "Starships" or any other Nicki hits are necessarily
blasting in the Oval Office or in his daughters' rooms at the
presidential residence.
"I don't think they really listen to Nicki Minaj that much," the POTUS explained about daughters Malia and Sasha.
"But let's face it, they are now hipper than me. There's a certain
point where your kids get old enough where they're just hipper than you
are."
The (possible) future American Idol judge cheerfully took to Twitter after hearing Obama's comments in true Nicki fashion:
"Ha! Thank you for understanding
my creative humor & sarcasm Mr. President, the smart ones always
do... *sends love & support* @BarackObama," Minaj tweeted. "
Awesome! Now I can tell my grandchildren that the 1st black President of the United States took the time to address a Nicki Minaj question"
Oh and for anyone who doubted her loyalty? Minaj has a message for you too: "Thanks haters! Lmaoooooooooooooooooooooooo. #BarbzWinAgain ahahhahaahhahahahahhahahahhahahahahhahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
