Abuja’s “Gbogbo Bigz Girlz”Arrested By EFCC Over N12 Million Fraud

If you mingle amongst the crème de la crème of Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory you will definitely know Ms. Vera Johnson or somebody who knows her. She has no professional background, but she has contacts of everybody who make things happen in Nigeria ranging from Senate President to Commissioner of Police.
One of her tricks is to go to public events with a photographer whose job is to snap her when talking to highly placed individuals and she will then place the picture in her phoney NGO office to show the world she is indeed a “Gbogbo Bigz Girls”.
Those gullible enough to buy into her tricks were duped of various sums of money on the pretext of helping them secure contracts or purchase plots of land in choice area of the FCT. Many complaints lodged with police by those she defrauded did not yield any result as she has contacts with top rank officers who ensures she does not sleep a night behind the bars.
But this time around, Vera Johnson was not that lucky as one of her victims reported her case to Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, who took over the case, and for the first time in a long time, Vera was detained and nobody could bail her out.
She was on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 arraigned before Justice Ibrahim M. Buka of the Federal Capital Territory High Court, Abuja on a four-count charge of obtaining the sum of twelve million naira (N12,000,000) from one Obiageli Obidiaso under false pretence of securing a plot of land for her in Wuye District, Abuja.
She was also accused of issuing a dud cheque using her registered Non-Governmental Organisation, NGO, Global Network for Anti-Corruption Initiative’s account name in the sum of four million Naira (N4,000,000).
